Group of MLCHS students receving a "moon tree" that had flown around the moon on the Artemis space shuttle

Shelby County's Martha Layne Collins High School students under the instruction of Mrs. Karen McPherson applied to be considered to retrieve a "moon tree" or a tree that had flown around the moon on the Artemis Space Shuttle. The students received the tree this week and today, with the help of Mike Summers of Summers Landscaping and Skye Drane from the Shelby County Cooperative Extension they planted the tree and worked to keep it protected from weather. Dedication of the tree is May 10th at 1:00 at Collins High School. We are #shelbyinspired.
